A lecture on the EU budget by European Commissioner Janusz Lewandowski

Janusz Lewandowski is European commissioner for financial programming and budget, a position he has held since February 2010. He served as Polish Minister for Privatisation in 1991, and from 1992-93. He received both his Phd (economics) and Masters degree (economics) from the University of GdaƄsk.

On August 9, Commissioner Lewandowski suggested that the EU could levy taxes on bank transactions or air travel to allow member states to reduce their individual contributions.
